Juddmonte is pleased to announce the 2022 nomination fees for its five European stallions, standing at Banstead Manor Stud near Newmarket.
Bated Breath - £15,000 SLF
Expert Eye - £10,000 SLF
Frankel - £200,000 SLF
Kingman - £150,000 SLF
Oasis Dream - £20,000 SLF
KINGMAN’s runners have enjoyed tremendous results, achieving lifetime figures of an outstanding 12% blacktype winners to runners. In 2021, internationally he has sired three Group 1 winners on three continents, Palace Pier, Domestic Spending and Schnell Meister, and 18 stakes winners in total. The zeal for Kingman’s offspring continued in the sales ring when his filly out of Needleleaf, a close relation to the unbeaten dual Group 1-winning two-year-old Native Trail, consigned by Haras d’Haspel realised €950,000. His daughter out of Finsceal Beo was the second highest-priced filly on Day 1 of the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale at €500,000. Day 2 of the Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale produced a real highlight when a colt out of multiple Group winner Turret Rocks reached 1,100,000gns and, in Book 2, a yearling out of Australian-bred Reem went to 525,000gns. The future looks very promising for Kingman as he will be represented next year by his largest book of two-year-olds, followed by two exceptional quality books of mares. In fact, in the past three seasons Kingman has covered more than 300 Stakes winners more than any other stallion in Europe.
EXPERT EYE’s first yearlings went through the ring with some excellent uptake from the domestic and international markets. 55 yearlings sold with an average of £43,729, over double his introductory fee, and his highest-priced yearlings sold for 290,000gns, 140,000gns, £90,000 with two making 80,000gns. In his first two books of mares, Expert Eye covered 50 Group/stakes winners - more than Acclamation (11), Dark Angel (12) and Mehmas (13) combined, therefore we wait with great anticipation for his first runners in 2022.
BATED BREATH enters 2022 as the best value sire in Europe by blacktype performers. With 18 blacktype performers including the impressive Group 2 winners Viadera and Gift List, and Group 3 winners - Sacred Bridge and Makaloun, no stallion standing for less than £25,000/€25,000 matches or exceeds this number. At the sales, his progeny were also high achievers attaining the second highest priced filly at Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up (relocated to Newmarket) 2021 at 240,000gns plus tripling his 2020 Tattersalls Book 2 sales record reaching 1,703,000gns in 2021.
Concluding 2021, no other stallion has sired the winners of more Group 1 sprints in Europe in the last 10 years than OASIS DREAM. Highlights of 2021 include 2YO dual Gr.1 winner Native Trail, who is his best ever 2YO on Timeform ratings and goes into 2022 as the ante-post favourite for the 2000 Guineas. He also sired Gr.2 winner in Australia, Turaath, Gr.3 Prix Paul de Moussac winner Erasmo, dual Gr.3 winner and Gr.1-placed Grocer Jack and Gr.3 winner Al Tariq along with Gr.1-placed Imaging and four times Group-placed 2YO Desert Dreamer. In the ring, an Oasis Dream colt was one of the top five sold at the Craven Breeze Up Sale and his top yearling sold for 420,000gns in Book 1 of Tattersalls October Yearling Sales. His 2022 fee remains unchanged at £20,000 SLF.
FRANKEL reached a historical milestone in 2021 when he became the fastest stallion to 50 Group winners in history and achieved 20 Group 1 winners. This year has witnessed eight new Group 1 winners including two Derby winners, an Oaks winner and three Group 1 winning 2YO’s. He currently has an incredible 11% Group winners to runners and 15.5% blacktype winners to runners. Standing £2 million ahead of his nearest rival on the European general sires list, Frankel is currently the Champion Sire-elect and also tops the Great Britain and Irish lists; a feat not achieved by a British-based stallion since the great Mill Reef 34 years ago.
