Unbeaten Bated Breath filly takes Diana Trial

Three-year-old Bated Breath filly Night Breath earns a maiden stakes success with a four-length win in the Diana Trial at Dusseldorf.

Night Breath (Bated Breath) remained unbeaten in two starts and earned a maiden Stakes success following her four-length win. Partnered by Sibylle Vogt for owner-breeder Gestüt Wittekindshof and trainer Marcel Weiss, Night Breath raced in fourth throughout as Bohumil Nedorostek’s charge Chista (Isfahan) attempted to make all. The tempo soon began to increase and Night Breath was brought out behind runners and was presented with her challenge. The response was immediate and she started pulling clear from her rivals, with the winning margin at the end four lengths and her stablemate Giorgia (Siyouni) chasing her home. It was a further half a length back to Gua Lipa (Cloth Of Stars) in third under Andrea Ricupa.

Night Breath is a half-sister to two other winners and out of the two-time German Gr.3 winner Near England (Lord Of England), who is a half-sister to seven other winners, including the ten-time winner and Gr.3-placed Near Poet (Poet’s Voice) and the black type performers Near Amore (Amaron) and Near Rib (Ribchester).
