Two new stakes winner for Frankel

Sunday saw Juddmonte filly Dispatches strike in the Listed Prix Melisande at ParisLongchamp and Yvonne Jacques's homebred son of Frankel, Tenability, victorious in the Listed Tapster Stakes at Goodwood.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 8th June 2026:

Promising Frankel filly, Dispatches led home a one-two for Juddmonte homebreds in yesterday’s Listed Prix Melisande over 2200m at Longchamp, earning her maiden stakes victory in the process. The three-year-old daughter of Frankel settled in fourth and was angled out to begin her challenge over 400m from home. After claiming a narrow lead just over 300m out, she pulled clear with the fellow Juddmonte-owned Maintain (Kingman), who had made eye-catching ground from towards the rear. Dispatches would find more in the closing stages and prevailed by a length and a half, while it was a further two and a half lengths back to Ecija in third.

This was a third victory in four starts for the three-year-old, whose only defeat had come when fifth on debut at Deauville last August. She managed to shed her maiden tag at Saint-Cloud the following month and had made a winning reappearance in a fillies’ conditions race at Compiegne last month.

The venerable gelding Hamish was just denied in his bid for back-to-back victories in yesterday’s Listed Tapster Stakes over 12 furlongs at Goodwood as his four-year-old stablemate Tenability led home a one-two in the race for trainer William Haggas.

Sent off the 11/10 favourite in the hands of Cieren Fallon, the son of Frankel was settled towards the rear of the six-runner field as the pace was set by Arabian Crown. Tenability loomed up to challenge in the home straight and stayed on well inside the final two furlongs to run down Hamish, who was racing under a five-pound penalty, and hold off his stablemate’s renewed challenge late on to win by a neck. Glen Buck  finished a further two lengths back in third.

Bred by his owner Yvonne Jacques’s Carisbrooke Stud, Tenability was recording his fifth win from nine career starts, and the first in stakes company, after racking up a string of four wins on the bounce last season which culminated in a win off a mark of 92 in a heritage handicap over 12 furlongs at Ascot in September.
