1st June - KEMPTON, 2YO FILLIES’ MAIDEN, 6F AW - Palm Lily knew her job on her debut and quickened up well from the cutaway and only had to be pushed out to win well, becoming the third individual winner for her first-season sire Expert Eye.

She is the seventh winner out of the three-time scorer Lady Livius (Titus Livius), making her a half-sister to the Gr.3 Sirenia Stakes winners Burnt Sugar (Lope De Vega) and Brown Sugar
(Tamayuz), who also won the Gr.3 Molecomb Stakes. Lady Livius is a half-sister to the Gr.2 Mill Reef Stakes winner and Gr.1 Golden Jubilee Stakes runner-up Galeota (Mujadil) and the Listed River Eden Stakes winner Loulwa (Montjeu; dam of the dual Listed winner Justineo, and grandam of the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes-placed Gentleman Joe).

Other half-sisters include the winners Vermilliann (Mujadil; dam of the triple Listed-placed Futoon, and grandam of last season’s Gr.2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Wings Of War), Savannah Poppy (Statue Of Liberty; dam of the Listed-placed Jadanna, and grandam of the Listed winner and Gr.3-placed Darkanna and the dual Listed winner Logo Hunter) and Adoring (One Cool Cat; grandam of the Gr.3 Prix Six Perfections winner and Gr.1-placed Oscula). The second dam, two-time juvenile winner Refined (Statoblest), is a half-sister to the Gr.3 Criterion Stakes winner Pipe Major (Tirol), out of the triple winner Annsfield Lady (Red Sunset). Lady Livius has a yearling colt by Waldgeist.

3rd June - MUSSELBURGH, SELLING STAKES, 5F - Second twice and dropped in class here, Explicit raced prominently against the rail and held on from the fast-finishing Cuban Rock (Havana Grey) to win. He is the sixth foal out of the French Gr.3-winning juvenile and Gr.1 Prix Morny third Pontenuovo (Green Tune), who is also the dam of the winning Invincible Spirit filly Kindred Spirit. Pontenuovo is a half-sister to the Listed-placed Ponte Vespucci (Anabaa) and they are the best of the eight racing-age foals out of Porlezza (Sicyos), winner of the Gr.1 Prix Maurice de Gheest and two other Gr.2 sprints. The winning third dam Pupsi (Matahawk) also produced the Listed-placed Ponte Brolla (Highest Honor; dam of the Gr.2-winning stayer Ponte Tresa and Listed scorer Pontille) and the dam of Australian Gr.1 winner Pornichet.

Pontenuovo, who was bought back for 34,000gns at last December’s Tattersalls Mare Sale, has a yearling filly by Magna Grecia and an April-born filly foal by New Bay.

10th June - YORK, SELLING STAKES, 6F - Explicit gave a confident performance to win by a wide margin making it two in a row. His breeder, Branton Court Stud bred two further two-year-olds by Expert Eye, Cathy Come Home and Time Off.

9th June - HAYDOCK, 2YO FILLIES’ NOVICE, 6F - Family Ties was settled in mid-division and responded well in the last two furlongs, getting to the lead in the final 100 yards and winning on her fourth start.
