Sibila Spain makes all for Listed win

Frankel filly Sibila Spain took her first blacktype win in the Listed Prix de Liancourt at ParisLongchamp yesterday.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 3rd September 2021:

The three-year-old daughter of Frankel picked up the lead from her plumb draw on the rail, tracked by Harcanville with a distance back to Listed winner Light Stars, who headed the final two starters. Keeping up a relentless pace, Sibila Spain kept the pressure on and coasted home unchallenged as the field failed to reel her in until the dying strides.

A running-on Omnia Munda Mundis (Australia) claimed second, two and a half lengths adrift of the winner, while Light Stars finished third, a further length in arrears. Off the mark in her first two starts this term, she was pitched into Gr.1 company to finish fourth in both the Prix Saint-Alary and Prix de Diane. She holds an entry in the Gr.1 Prix de l’Opéra for next month.

Bred by Coolmore Stud, she was purchased privately by Yeguada Centurion for €210,000 at the Arqana August Yearling Sale and is a full-sister to the Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 Gold Cup-placed Master Of Reality and a half-sister to the dam of a trio of blacktype performers, topped by the Gr.3 winner Magic Circle,
