Sibila Spain dominates again
Classic hopeful Sibila Spain (Frankel) remains unbeaten after she coasted to victory in the Prix des Pouliches at Lyon Parilly yesterday (16th April).
Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 16th April 2021:
The three-year-old filly had been flagged as a TDN Rising Star following her debut at Saint-Cloud (25th March) where she posted a striking nine length winning margin.
Sibila Spain was in front again from the outset at Lyon Parilly. Never in danger, the 3-10 favourite may have been idling late as she hit the line with one and a half lengths to spare over runner up Theodora.
"I thought she won nicely again, especially as it was not the plan to go from the front," trainer Christopher Head commented. "I'd have preferred to school her
and teach her to wait, but although the jockey tried nobody else wanted the lead. He didn't have to ask too much of her and I am very tempted to head to the [Gr.1] Prix Saint-Alary. There is a good time interval between this race and then and it seems perfect for her. We'll see how she does from here."
Head confirmed that Sibila Spain had not been entered for the Classic Gr.1 Prix de Diane yet, as she only came to him at the beginning of February, but did indicate that she could be supplemented for the race at a later stage.
