Sapphire Seas lands the Listed John Musker Stakes

Frankel three-year-old Sapphire Seas landed the feature race on the card, the Listed John Musker Stakes, at Yarmouth yesterday.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 21st September 2023:

Never too far behind the front-running Fall In Love, she was moved into the lead approaching the final furlong of the 10 furlong event by William Buick and quickened up well to beat Mukaddamah by two and a half lengths, with Infinite Cosmos another three-quarters of a length back in third and Fall In Love a further length and a quarter adrift in fourth.

Now the winner of four of her five starts, the Godolphin homebred  was making a swift reappearance after returning from a five-month absence to land a handicap off a mark of 94 at Haydock Park a fortnight earlier. She is the second winner out of the Street Cry mare Pure Diamond, whose three victories included the Listed Meydan Classic. The second dam White Rose won the Gr.3 Prix Miesque and finished second in the Gr.1 Preis der Diana prior to producing seven other winners, topped by the Listed victor Elite Army, while the third dam Wild Romance won at Listed level in Germany before producing two other German Pattern race winners.
