Sacred Bridge a new stakes winner for Bated Breath

Sacred Bridge, a two-year-old full sister to Gr.1 winner Viadera, claimed her first blacktype in the Listed Tipperary Stakes yesterday (30th June)

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 1st July 2021:

Sent to Tipperary just a week after scoring on debut at Naas, Sacred Bridge (Bated Breath) was able to continue the momentum and gain a first blacktype success. Dropping back from six furlongs, the full sister to last year's Gr.1 Matriarch Stakes heroine Viadera pursued the early pacesetters Misty Ayr and Harmony Rose and after taking their measure passing the furlong pole asserted to score relatively comfortably.

"We have obviously done very little with her and she actually put weight on since and was giving us all the signs she wanted to go back," Shane Lyons said.

"She did that very genuinely and Colin [Keane] loves her temperament. She'll mix and match it between five and six. She has an exciting future. This filly is smaller than Viadera, but has the same temperament and oozes class."

The aforementioned Viadera captured the Listed Cairn Rouge Stakes and was runner-up in the Gr.3 Anglesey Stakes for this stable prior to shipping Stateside to
win the Matriarch and the Gr.3 Noble Damsel Stakes. The dam also produced Crossed Baton (Dansili), who took the Listed Blue Riband Trial and Listed Churchill Stakes and was runner-up in the Gr.2 Grand Prix de Maisons-Laffitte, Gr.2 Prix Eugene Adam and Gr.3 Hampton Court Stakes. The Listed-winning second dam Quandary was also responsible for the Listed Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Double Crossed who is best known as the dam of the four-times Group 1-winning European champion Twice Over. Quandary is also the second dam of the Group 1 heroines Passage of Time (Dansili) and Timepiece (Zamindar) and is related to the Gr.1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp winner All At Sea.
