Regal Jubilee a new stakes-winning 2YO for Frankel

Cheveley Park Stud's homebred Frankel filly, Regal Jubilee, made her blacktype breakthrough with a win in the Listed Montrose Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

Regal Jubilee bettered a last-of-nine debut effort over course and distance with a seven-length rout in her return at Windsor last month and continued her ascent through the ranks with a
breakthrough on blacktype bow at Newmarket. Under restraint in rear passing halfway, she bounded into contention approaching the quarter-mile marker and lengthened clear under urging inside the final furlong to win with plenty in hand.

"She does a lot wrong, but she is very unexposed and entitled to be green," said winning rider Kieran Shoemark. "They went a sensible gallop and she travelled extremely well. I just waited for the gaps as I was trying to teach her plenty and, when we hit the rising ground, she found the line well. She was very impressive in her novice at Windsor, but ultimately I don't think we beat a whole lot, and she has taken a huge step forward again. She has got that profile where she has now won a Listed race she can go away for the winter and look at big targets next year."
