Red Letter wins the Gr.3 Snow Fairy Stakes
Frankel three-year-old Red Letter has looked a Pattern-race winner in waiting since her debut at the Curragh last June and it came to fruition at that track on Saturday (30th August) as she claimed the Gr.3 Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes, with fellow Frankel filly Sand Gazelle runner-up.

Building on her confidence-restoring win in Killarney's Listed Cairn Rouge Stakes last month, the 6-5 favourite proved the step up to nine furlongs held no fears with a strong-staying effort here. Held up by Gary Carroll, the TDN Rising Star who was also a close-up fourth in the Gr.1 Moyglare at this venue in September had to come around Sand Gazelle (Frankel) inside the final furlong but her trademark acceleration came to the fore en route to an authoritative one and a half-length success.
"That was lovely and as I said to Barry [Mahon], she's crying out for that trip but is probably only ready for it now," trainer Ger Lyons said of the 6-5 favourite. "You can see it in her physically, she's only filling her frame. We've just had to be so patient with her and we have a lovely horse to look forward to next year. Hopefully she'll fill all of her potential in the next 12 months and is a filly to look forward to."
"We're looking forward to Champions Weekend, which is very important to us, and we'll have a look at the Blandford. The ground is very important, as she needs ease," he added. "Obviously the family have their say with her, but we've been training her with all of this in mind, with both the back-end of the season and next year. I think she can get a mile and a half, no problem."
