Purview another new blacktype winner for Kingman
Kingman colt Purview was held up initially by Colin Keane, and then the homebred cruised to the front approaching the furlong pole en route to an authoritative win in the Listed Navigation Stakes at Cork yesterday.
Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 1st October 2025:
Runner-up to Delacroix in Leopardstown's Gr.3 Derby Trial, Purview filled that same spot in the nine-furlong Gr.3 Meld Stakes there before running fifth in the Listed Prix Nureyev at Deauville. His Listed Navigation Stakes win is his first blacktype success.
"It was a pleasing performance and he is a very talented colt," Kris Weld said. "We thought today's race would suit him and thankfully it has worked out well. Colin gave him a lovely ride. He had only won a maiden prior to today and deserved that, as his form earlier in the year was top-drawer."
"Things didn't pan out in the Meld Stakes, but that can happen and he showed today what he was capable of," he added. "We hadn't looked beyond today and dad will have a word with the Abdullah family and Barry [Mahon] and come up with a plan. Hopefully it is onwards and upwards now."
