Oxagon a new TDN Rising Star for Frankel

John and Thady Gosden trainee Oxagon (Frankel) delivered a stunning performance in his second start to earn a TDN Rising Star rosette in Wednesday evening's Chasemore Farm EBF Novice Stakes at Sandown.

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 31st July 2025, by Sean Cronin:

He becomes the 44th Rising Star for his sire and second this season after Treanmor joined the roll of honour in May. The 10-3 third favourite broke swiftly and gained an immediate advantage, setting steady fractions, in this seven-furlong heat annexed by subsequent Gr.2 Champagne Stakes victor Bay City Roller (New Bay) last year. Holding sway throughout, Oxagon was rowed along when threatened by Godolphin representative Look To The Stars passing the quarter-mile marker and powered clear in imperious fashion thereafter to easily outclass that rival by a
hugely impressive eight lengths.

The winning dam Endless Charm, who was a 300,000gns purchase by Nawara Stud from the Godolphin draft at the 2021 Tattersalls December Sale, is a daughter of Gr.3 Premio Sergio Cumani winner Whazzis who is out of a half to the operation's Gr.1 Prix de Diane heroine Rafha. Therefore linked to the leading sire Invincible Spirit, the family features Gr.2 Mill Reef Stakes-winning sire James Garfield, last year's Gr.2 Royal Lodge Stakes winner Wimbledon Hawkeye and the four-times Grade 1-winning Breeders' Cup Mile heroine Uni.

Endless Charm, whose yearling colt is by Teofilo, is linked to some significant Frankel progeny. Whazzat's full-sister Whatami has produced Gr.3 Prix du Lys and Gr.3 JRA Chairmans Handicap winner and Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris third Sir Delius - himself a Rising Star who raced in France as Delius--and Listed Wolferton Stakes winner and multiple Group-placed Juan Elcano.
