Mrs Fitzherbert claims Gr.3 success
Kingman filly Mrs Fitzherbert became a new Group winner for her sire winning the Gr.3 Prix Bertrand de Tarragon at Chantilly on Saturday.
Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 18th September 2022:
A winner at Listed level in April this year, the Hughie Morrison trained Mrs Fitzherbert put in a solid display to land her second Stakes contest yesterday, when comfortably winning the Gr.3 Prix Bertrand de Tarragon at Chantilly.
On an afternoon where English-trained horses took all three Gr.3 contests on the Chantilly card, Mrs Fitzherbert was prominently ridden by Cristian Demuro in the 1800m race and stalked the leader before taking up the running on the turn for home. Dominating her six rivals, the Sonia and Anthony Rogers-owned homebred retained her lead with relative ease all the way to the post, winning by a length and a quarter from Pinatubo’s half-sister Sundoro, with Kennella running her usual game race to finish third.
Bought back in by her owners’ Airlie Stud for €140,000 when offered at the Goffs Orby Sale in 2019, she is now a winner on two of her four runs this term. The classy four-year-old holds an entry in Newmarket’s Gr.1 Sun Chariot Stakes on 1st October. She is a full-sister to the Listed-placed Moll Davis, and halfsister to the Gr.2 Zabeel Mile winner Do It All and the Australian Listed winner Tales Of Grimm (both by Distorted Humor). They
