Mrs Fitzherbert a new stakes winner for Kingman

Mrs Fitzherbert became her sire's second stakes winner in as many days, running down race leaders Almohandesah and Bashkirova to win the Listed Conqueror Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday (30th April).

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 1st May 2022:

The improving Mrs Fitzherbert (Kingman) came out on top in the Listed Conqueror Fillies’ Stakes at Goodwood, her first in Stakes company.

Settled in third along the rail by George Rooke, she travelled into the race well on her first start of the season. Trapped on the heels of the leaders with two furlongs to go, Rooke switched his filly left and laid down a strong challenge to Bashkirova. She went past the William Haggas-trained filly inside the final
furlong and won by half a length. Zanbaq (Oasis Dream) ran on well to pick up third, a further two and a quarter lengths behind.

This was the Hughie Morrison-trained four-year-old’s third victory from eight starts. She was fourth in the ListedFleur de Lys Fillies’ Stakes at Lingfield in October on her final start of the season and has been off since.

Bred by her owners Sonia and Anthony Rogers’ Airlie Stud, she was bought back for €140,000 when offered by the stud at the Goffs Orby Sale. She is a full sister to the Listed-placed Moll Davis and half-sister to the Gr.2 Zabeel Mile winner Do It All and the Australian Listed winner Tales Of Grimm. They are out of the Gr.3 All Along Stakes winner Stupendous Miss, a daughter of Gr.1 Cheveley Park Stakes third Subeen from the family of the Gr.1 Hollywood Turf Handicap winner Storm Trooper.
