Mr Moliere in Chantilly stakes success

Exciting Kingman three-year-old Mr Moliere collected his first blacktype success on Saturday in the Listed Prix de Saint-Patrick at Chantilly.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 2nd July 2023:

The Andre Fabre-trained Mr Moliere came from last to first to win the Listed Prix de Saint-Patrick in taking style under Mickael Barzalona at Chantilly on Saturday (1st July).

In a 12-strong field of three-year-old colts and geldings, the gelded son of Kingman was waited with at the rear of the field by Barzalona off a strong early pace. As the field swung into the straight, he still had 11 rivals to pass, but the leaders soon began to tire and he responded well, eventually hitting the front inside the final 100m and winning a shade cosily by half a length from Padishakh. He also finished strongly, while Bravais (Frankel) stayed on to grab third. The first three home had been the last three just 400m from the post.

Owned by Baron Edouard de Rothschild and Lady O’Reilly, and bred in Britain by Ecurie de Meautry and Petra Bloodstock Agency Ltd, he is the first winner out of the Gr.2 Prix Corrida winner and Gr.1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud third Armande, who has an unraced two-year-old full-sister named Mlle Moliere also in training with Andre Fabre.
