Kingman filly blitzes Prix Yacowlef Field
Kingman filly Kimi Rey blitzed her seven rivals in the Listed Prix Yacowlef for two-year-olds over 1000m at Deauville on Saturday evening.
Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 6th July 2025:
Covered up by Mikael Barzalona as Ali Shuffle made the running, she was angled out approaching the 300m marker and from 200m out she powered away to score by three lengths. Afjan, who was sixth in the Gr.2 Norfolk Stakes, was second, a length in front of Jeudixx. Kimi Rey is trained by the Francis-Henri Graffard and might have made a winning debut at Moulins in early April but for veering left and unseating her rider when in what looked like a winning position. She made amends at Chantilly next time out
and was third in the Listed Prix La Fleche last month.
Owned and bred by Jane Newett, she is the second foal and winner out of the unraced Frankel mare Frilly, a daughter of the three-time Gr.3 Summer Stakes winner Ladies Are Forever.
