Kingman colts among world's best for 2020

Kingman was well represented among the Longines World’s Best Racehorse rankings for 2020, with Palace Pier crowned the highest-rated European 3YO and Persian King the world's highest-rated medium distance older horse.

Palace Pier, bred by Highclere Stud and Floors Farming, emulated his sire to win the Gr.1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Gr.1 Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville last year, before running third in the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. The John Gosden-trained colt stays in training for 2021.

Persian King, bred by Dayton Investments and winner of the Gr.1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains in 2019, followed up with two further Group 1 wins in 2020 - the Gr.1 Prix d'Ispahan and Gr.1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp. On his final start he was third in the Gr.1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Confirmation of the racehorse standings came on the same day that the Gr.1 Juddmonte International at York was crowned the 2020 Longines World’s Best Race.
