Gilded Prize a real Classic contender

Juddmonte homebred Frankel filly, Gilded Prize, remained unbeaten with a smooth success in Friday’s Gr.3 Prix Cleopatre over 2100m at Chantilly.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 18th April 2026:

The strong-travelling daughter of Frankel made the running, began to draw clear at the 400m pole under hands and heels and proved much too good for her rivals. Colin Keane had to ask minimal questions as the filly crossed the line three and a half lengths in front of her closest pursuer, the €1m Arqana August Yearling Sale purchase Warriors Whisper. Blanche De Medicis was just a nose further back in third.

The Gr.1 Oaks entrant, who also holds an entry for the Gr.1 Prix de Diane, has now won all of her three starts on the track. Having made a three and a half-length winning debut at Chantilly in November, she made a two-length winning return at that same track last month.

The homebred is the second winner out of the Gr.3 Eatontown Stakes winner and dual Gr.1-placed Grand Jete (Dansili). The second dam is the Gr.2 Prix de Sandringham victrix Modern Look (Zamindar) and the family also includes the likes of the multiple Gr.1 winner Foreteller (Dansili), the Gr.2 winner and Gr.1-placed sire Showcasing (Oasis Dream) and the Gr.3 Musidora Stakes winner and Gr.1 Prix de Diane fourth Shutter Speed (Dansili; dam of the Listed winner Shader).
