Frankel's Exactly is spot-on in the Gr.3 Killavullan Stakes
The Coolmore-bred and owned Exactly (Frankel) was the only filly in the five-strong Gr.3 Killavullan Stakes field but proved six and a half lengths superior in winning the contest with considerable ease.
Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 20th October 2024:
She jumped well under Wayne Lordan into the lead and stayed there throughout. Travelling generously, she was asked to quicken away from the field and did so in style, with the result never in doubt. Stablemate Antelope Canyon fared best of the rest, having raced in her slipstream throughout, but lacking the pace of the winner when she picked up the tempo. Rudi’s Apple stayed on in the final furlong to take third, beaten a further length and a half.
Exactly has been kept busy since making her debut at the Curragh at the Irish Derby Festival. That was her only off the board finish prior to a consistent run of six races, including a course and distance maiden victory and four placed efforts in Group company. She has acquitted herself well against her own sex from 7 furlongs to a mile and gained a deserved first Group victory against colts today. Second twice to stablemate Bedtime Story (Frankel) in the Gr.3 Silver Flash Stakes and Gr.2 Debutante Stakes, she was third in the Gr.1 Moyglare Stakes to Lake Victoria (Frankel) and third, beaten half a length after making the running, in a deep renewal of the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac 13 days ago at Longchamp to Vertical Blue.
She is the second foal and second Stakes winner out of the brilliant juvenile Heartache, successful in the Gr.2 Queen Mary Stakes and the Gr.2 Flying Childers Stakes. Her three-parts brother Salt Lake City won the Listed Ruby Stakes. Heartache, who was a 1.3 million purchase at the 2018 Tattersalls December Mare sale by M V Magnier, has a yearling filly and a filly foal, both also by Frankel.
