Arrogate juvenile makes seven figures at OBS Spring Sale

A two-year-old filly from the first crop of Arrogate sold for $1,000,000 at the OBS Spring Sale yesterday (21st April) making her the highest-priced filly of the day.

The filly (hip 463)  sold to Katsumi Yoshida after she posted a furlong in :10 flat, co-fastest at the distance, at Wednesday’s Under Tack session. She is out of graded stakes winner Amen Hallelujah (Montbrook), a daughter of stakes winner Sara’s Success. Consignor April Mayberry said: "I loved her since she stepped foot on the farm out of the September Sale. She did everything she is supposed to do from day one. She has a great mind and is just a lovely filly. I thought she would be our sales topper. I am thrilled she went over our expectations."

"I absolutely love them." Mayberry said of Arrogate's offspring. "I have another one at the farm. I have loved both of them the whole time."

Also making the top ten highest-priced sales of the day was an Arrogate colt out of Ask The Question, dam of Gr.1 winner Heart To Heart. He was purchased for $750,000 by Mike Talla of West Point Thoroughbreds. Hip 486 - an Arrogate filly already named Triple A Okay - sold to D J Stable LLC for $335,000. Bred by Chester and Mary Broman she is out of Gr.1 winner Artemis Agrotera.
