Another Group win for Agiato

Leading Italian sprinter Agiato (Bated Breath) won his second Group race this season at Rome on Sunday in the Gr.3 Premio Umbria.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 31st October 2022, by Franco Raimondi:

He travelled smoothly behind Django, who set a sizzling pace, and ran on well to score by nearly two lengths from three-year-old Il Sindacalista and Raifan. Agiato stopped the clock in a new race record of 1:07 flat.

Micol Borgato, representing Grizzetti Galoppo, said: “He confirmed that he is the best sprinter in the country and is at the top of his game at five.”

Agiato, a €72,000 purchase by Grizzetti Galoppo at the SGA Selected Sale, was bred by Luciano Salice, who also owned and bred the Champion Falbrav. He is a half-brother to the Gr.2 Oaks d’Italia winner Folega (Oasis Dream) and two other Stakes winners. Their dam Rosa Del Dubai won the Gr.3 Premio Mario Incisa over 2000m and was sold to Japan after she delivered Agiato. She has produced two winners in her new country, including the promising two-year-old Tosen Tram, and has a yearling colt by Just A Way.
