A good day for Frankel in Australia
Two sons of Frankel, Dajraan and Rampant Lion, posted very positive results in Australia today.
Dajraan was making his Australian debut at Warwick Farm having previously racked-up two wins and two second places in the UK in 2021 before making the transfer to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott in Australia. Racing over six furlongs, Dajraan made his move half a furlong from the line, accelerating away from frontrunner Unrelenting to win by a length and a half.
Bred and raced by Emirates Park Pty Ltd, the Frankel colt is the first foal out of Gr.1 Golden Slipper Stakes winner Mossfun - pictured above.
Two-year-old Frankel colt Rampant Lion added some more blacktype to his page today placing second in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield. He made his debut in October 2021 with a third place finish in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at Flemington. The Peter Moody-trained colt, bred by Rosemont Stud, hails from the family of Australian Gr.1 performers Kementari and Teleprion.
Frankel has now had 33 winners from 53 starters in Australia (62%) with earnings of A$9 million. He has had eight stakes winners (15% stakes winners to runners) including six Group winners (11.5% Group winners to runners) and 15 blacktype performers in total (28.5% blacktype performers to runners).
