A Frankel one-two in the Group 3 Princess Royal
Homebred Frankel mare Time Lock was the wide margin winner of the Gr. Princess Royal Stakes on Friday. A fellow daughter of Frankel, Comic Book, took the runner-up position.

Highly tried since her success in the 2023 Gr.3 Princess Royal Juddmonte's Time Lock was back in her safe place on Friday returning to the same contest that she had dominated a year previously. Unable to land a blow in the Gr.1 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes and Gr.1 Coronation Cup in the interim, the homebred was always comfortable under Ryan Moore en route to registering back-to-back successes in this mile-and-a-half contest to potentially set up a high-profile swansong.
Settled third early, the 13-8 favourite moved to Comic Book and Place Of Safety approaching two out before being sent clear for a straightforward five-length verdict over the former.
"We had half an idea about whether or not to go to Hong Kong for the mile-and-a-half race or not in December, Ryan just said that could be a good option for her depending on what's in it," Juddmonte's racing manager Barry Mahon explained. "She'll retire either way at the end of this year and she's a nice broodmare prospect."
