2YO Kingman filly Opera Mundi strikes in the Listed Prix Zeddaan

Opera Mundi became Kingman's 27th Stakes winner this year with success in the Listed Prix Zeddaan at Deauville yesterday.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 6th November 2023:

Opera Mundi took the Listed Prix Zeddaan, the first of two races at that level on the all-weather track at Deauville yesterday. The two-year-old daughter of Kingman had been second on
her debut before winning over this course and distance (seven furlongs) and then coming fourth in a conditions race in her three previous starts.

The Carlos and Yann Lerner-trained filly sat in the box seat as See You Around made the running. The leader kicked in the straight and Opera Mundi gave chase. She took a little while to get going, but began to get the upper hand between the 200m and 100m markers and scored by a short neck. Seduisante was third, three lengths behind See You Around.

Bred by Ballylinch Stud and Ecurie des Charmes, Opera Mundi was a vendor buyback at the Goffs Orby Sale for €220,000. She is the first foal out of the Listed Bluebell Stakes winner Solage, whose half-sister Rumi (Frankel) won the Gr.2 Prix de la Nonette and the Gr.3 Prix Vanteaux. This is the family of the Gr.1 winners Plumania and Left Hand.
