Stakes success for Mohaafeth

Three-year-old Frankel colt Mohaafeth earned his first blacktype with a win in the Listed Newmarket Stakes on the Rowley Mile racecourse today.

Held up in the rear for much of the race, Mohaafeth started to make headway three furlongs out. He took the lead with two furlongs to go and finished at a canter leaving runner-up Secret Protector five lengths back.

The William Haggas-trained colt was bred by Philippa Cooper's Normandie Stud out of stakes-winning mare French Dressing. He was purchased by his owners Shadwell Estate Company at Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling sale for 350,000gns.
