Lake Placid Graded win for Technical Analysis

Kingman filly Technical Analysis produced a front-running performance to take the Gr.2 Lake Placid Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday.

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 22nd August 2021:

Favoured at just north of even money, Klaravich Stables' Techincal Analysis controlled a modest tempo and had plenty left for the stretch drive to easily take Saturday's Gr.2 Lake Placid Stakes over rain-affected turf at Saratoga.

The 200,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 acquisition jumped very alertly from gate two beneath Jose Ortiz and was joined to her outside by Spanish Loveaffair for the run into the clubhouse turn. Burning little fuel through a quarter in :24.68 and a half-mile in :50.03, the Irish-bred bay began to get away from her pace rival under a light hold entering the turn, drifted out several paths off the home corner and stayed on under intermittent right-handed urging to win comfortably.

A debut third over similarly easy ground at Belmont (1st November) Technical Analysis graduated with ease at second asking at Aqueduct four weeks later and was put away for the winter. A smart first-level allowance winner at Belmont in April, she was a wide-trip sixth behind recent Gr.3 Saratoga Oaks heroine Con Lima in the nine-furlong Gr.3 Wonder Again Stakes downstate on 3rd June and returned nearly $18 to those who kept the faith with a 1 1/4-length success in the one-mile Gr.3 Lake George Stakes over this course on 23rd July.
