Hello Deira another winner for Expert Eye

First crop Expert Eye colt Hello Deira got off the mark at Redcar yesterday with a late run in the final stages of the race.

Taken from the Racing Post, 13th September 2022, by Matt Rennie:

The victory was the first for the partnership of trainer Owen Burrows and owner Ahmad Al Shaikh. Al Shaikh, who previously owned this year's shock Derby runner-up Hoo Ya Mal, has a "handful" of horses with Burrows and they notched their landmark success when the son of Expert Eye got up by a nose under Kevin Stott.

"It's great for Ahmad. He's a big supporter of mine and it won't be our last winner for him, he's been great. Hopefully it can be a fruitful partnership over the next couple of years," Burrows said.

"I thought he was only going to finish fourth or fifth. He's certainly improved for the step up to seven furlongs and it might not be long before we go up to a mile."

Hello Deira's success was a second from four runners in September for Burrows, who hopes to unleash more of his juveniles throughout the rest of the month.

Bred by the Looks A Million Partnership, Hello Deira is the first foal of racing age out of Looks A Million (Kyllachy), a stakes-placed half-sister to Keep Busy a dual Listed winner and Gr.1-placed.
