Game Raclette a new Group winner for Frankel

Back on the right track when scoring a Listed win at ParisLongchamp last month, Raclette firmly stamped her class and fended off multiple challenges to take yesterday’s Gr.2 Prix de Malleret at the same course.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 15th July 2022:

Held in high regard as a juvenile before a quiet start this season, the April-born Frankel filly successfully stepped up in trip to land another victory in the 2400m contest for her trainer André Fabre, who has now taken the race four times since 2017.

Successful on four of her six career starts to date, the well-bred filly looks to have recaptured the promise she showed when
scoring on her two starts last term and was again given another excellent ride by Olivier Peslier, to take her most significant prize to date.

Facing only five rivals, Raclette was ridden prominently, settling on the girths of the early leader Fall In Love. Taking up the running on entering the straight, she forced an early challenge from Gr.3 winner Baiykara, who travelled like the winner but couldn’t pick up. Game in front, Raclette held on to score by a head from Lastotchka with Baiykara a short neck back in third.

The daughter of Frankel is one of three winners out of four-time Gr.1 winner Emollient. She is a full-sister to the Listed-placed Licence and a half-sister to Peace Charter, who was Gr.2-placed. Emollient is a half-sister to four winners, including Courtier, who is a Listed winner and Gr.3-placed, and Hofburg, who finished second in the Gr.1 Florida Derby.
