Another stakes win for Erasmo

Oasis Dream's Erasmo recorded his second stakes win in the Listed Prix de Pontarme at ParisLongchamp yesterday (24th May).

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 25th April 2021:

Successful in last terms Listed Prix Saraca at Chantilly as a two-year-old, Erasmo ran second in this venue's Gr.3 Prix La Force on seasonal return (11th April) and again in the Listed Prix du Pont Neuf here once more last time (2nd May). Tracking the leaders from off the pace in fifth for the most part, he made headway in the straight to challenge passing the two pole and was ridden out inside the final furlong to comfortably assert for a second blacktype triumph.

"He ran well in his first two starts this year, but met with strong opposition which was just too good for him each time," said Godolphin's Lisa Jane Graffard.

"The [nine-furlong] trip was beyond him in the the Prix La Force and I'm not certain he'll be able to go much further than seven furlongs. There are no definite plans in place at this stage and we'll have time to make a decision on where he goes next."

Erasmo is one of three blacktype winners for the stakes-placed Sant Elena and the February-foaled bay is kin to dual Gr.1 winner Reckless Abandon,
stakes winner and Group-placed Best Approach and Listed-placed Family Tree. He is also half-brother to the hitherto unraced two-year-old Frankel filly Elena's Gift and the dam of Gr.3 Sweet Solera Stakes victress West End Girl.
